WIUT Drama Club |
The student is awarded for being an active participant of WIUT Drama Club in 2019-2020 academic year.
The Drama Club in WIUT is the most successfully developed social club, which the University has been proud of for the last 12 years. Any WIUT student who becomes a member of this club takes their first steps or continues their journey in the world of theater acting, where the director and club members share their knowledge of theory and practice on the WIUT theater stage. The participants of the club demonstrated their passion for theater, learned various acting techniques in different genres, and increased their knowledge of the English language and literature. The Drama Club participants were actively involved in the annual play rehearsals, gathering 3-5 times a week and spending 2 hours a day practicing their roles. The student was actively cooperating with the university administration and highly contributed to the development of WIUT social life.
The awardee demonstrated great dedication, creativity, communication, time management and team working skills.
The work done by the student contributed to the development of the following WIUT graduate attributes:
Critical and creative thinker;
Global in outlook and engaged in communities;
Socially, ethically and environmentally aware.

Reading Club sessions |
The Reading Club is an initiative carried out by Learning Resource Centre for both promoting Library resources and engaging students into creative work. Reading Club is aimed at building culture of reading within WIUT and Academic Lyceum under WIUT and constructing dialogue between students and staff members through books. Our mission is to re-discover reading as the principal activity for obtaining knowledge through collaboration.
Participated students increased general interest in reading.
Through reading and analyzing broadened their world outlook and understanding of multicultural environment
Students maintained innovative, collaborative, respectful, and friendly learning environment within the Club members.
The teachers who were also involved in the sessions shared their knowledge, opinion and experience, which was very beneficial for students. |

Course Representation |
Student representation at WIUT is performed through a scheme whereby a student is elected through an open vote by peer students to fulfil the role of a Course Representative (CR) for 2 consecutive semesters of the academic year 2019-2020. Course Representatives collect feedback from their peers to share with senior academics through Course Committee Meetings (CCMs). This allowed the University to consider improvements and additions to be made to the tools and services offered to students, thereby making a valuable contribution to the overall student experience at WIUT.
The role of the Leading Course Representative contributes to the development of the following WIUT graduate attributes: “Critical and creative thinker”, “Literate and effective communicator”, “Socially, ethically and environmentally aware”.

Professionals’ Choice Awards in Artwork in the Lockdown Unlocks Creativity Contest |
The awardee participated in the WIUT contest of Lockdown Unlocks Creativity dedicated to the Uzbekistan Youth Day, which was conducted during the summer break and the global quarantine period.
Participating in the Artwork nomination the awardee won Professionals’ Choice Awards. The awardee’s work named “The Starry Night” was selected by the professional artists as the best artwork among 60 other works.
The activity contributed to the development of three WIUT graduate attributes:

· Global in outlook and engaged in communities;
· Socially, ethically and environmentally aware. |

Internship at Career Development Centre |
Career Development Interns (4) were appointed by CDC officials on February 1, 2021. The official date of expiration of the held position is May 1, 2021.
The contribution of interns was significant as they provided assistance in organizing annually held job fair “Career Day 2021”. Together with CDC staff, they provided administrative assistance in planning the job fair, which involved over 90 companies, including international companies and over 1500 participants.

The Joint Photography Project of WIUT & the Republican Specialized School Of Art named after Benkov photo project |
The student performed as a model at the Joint Photography Project of WIUT & the Republican Specialized School Of Art named after Benkov for the annual Photo & Art Exhibition.
The student attended a series of photo sessions. During the process, the student learnt new posing techniques, performing skills by presenting the character of Flora & Fauna theme. The student had been cast for the project from among 50 candidates.
The activity contributed to the development of two WIUT graduate attributes:

• Socially, ethically and environmentally aware.

CIFS Mentorship Programme |
Student Mentoring Program is aimed at assisting students who just joined the university. Student mentors are carefully recruited from the high-achieving students of upper levels. Once the mentors are chosen, they are trained and assigned to one of the freshmen groups of students. Mentors actively assist Academic Counsellors during the Orientation week. Their role includes such tasks as meeting the students, holding sessions and helping them prepare social activities for their final day of the orientation week. Apart from that, mentors support students throughout the year by referring them to appropriate services provided by the university. The work done by mentors contributes to the development of the two graduate attributes: Global in outlook and engaged in communities; Socially, ethically and environmentally aware.
The activity develops the following University’s graduate attributes:

Moderating a Book Club session |
The Book Club is an initiative carried out by LRC for both promoting Library resources and engaging students into creative work. The Book Club is aimed at building culture of reading within WIUT and AL WIUT and constructing dialogue between students and staff members through books. OUR MISSION is to re-discover reading as the principal activity for obtaining knowledge through collaboration.
The teachers who were involved in facilitating and advancing the Book Club offered a variety of activities, which attract and sustain the interest of the students.
Dr. Nargiza Alimukhamedova, a WIUT lecturer facilitated a session which was dedicated to "Common Sense Economics" on October 5th, 2021. The book covers a classic introduction to the fundamentals of market economics. Its goal is to guide its readers to make wise personal and policy choices based on a sound understanding of economic principles. (Session 1)
Dr. Michael Clarke , First Deputy Rector (Academic) of WIUT facilitated a session on October 19th, 2021 based on students request of the book “The Seven Habits of Highly Effective people” by Stephen R. Covey. This self-help book shows the reader how to become a more effective person not only in business and also in life, by changing how readers perceive the world and better understanding of the definition of success. (Session 2)
Malika Abdullaeva, WIUT student facilitated a session on Sir Arthur Conan Doyle’s “Sherlock Holmes - A Scandal in Bohemia” on November 9th, 2021. Smart, handsome and arrogant genius - Sherlock Holmes in a "funny hat" was the subject of hot discussions in the Book Club session along with smart and cunning Irene Adler. (Session 3)
Temur Makhkamov, a WIUT lecturer facilitated a session on the best=seller book "Beating The Street " written by Peter Lynch on November 23rd 2021. The session covered strategies for investing and offer advice on how to pick stocks and mutual funds to assemble a successful investment portfolio. (Session 4)
Mukhlisa Atakhodjayeva, a WIUT student facilitated a session on February 8th, 2022 who led the session “Me Before You”, was emotional and full of light, which also raised great interest of participants. (Session 5)
Nargizabonu Rakhimova, a WIUT student facilitated a session on “Great Expectations" by Charles Dickens on March 15th, 2022 was about being human with all of its flaws and beauties; it's about struggle, law, society and class, death, family, relationships, pain, violence, love, mystery, virtues, fate or rather it's a skillful combination of such and other complex ever-relevant themes in one "grotesque, tragi-comic" masterpiece!" (Session 6).
Oftobkhon Akhadjonova, a WIUT student facilitated a session dedicated to the book “Little Women” by Louisa May Alcott on February 22th, 2022 also raised an interest of participants and they tried to share their opinion on topics related to life. (Session 7)
Mamurjon Rahimov, a WIUT lecturer facilitated a session on his book "Economics in Cartoons" ("Suratli Iqtisod") on March 15, 2022. Students had a chance to get benefit much from firsthand overview, introduction and discussion of the book by a professional. (Session 8)
Mark Reese was invited by WIUT in collaboration with ASU (Arizona State University) who is a researcher on Central Asian literature, professional translator of A. Qodiriy's "O'tkan kunlar" - facilitated sessions of “Bygone Days” (O'tkan kunlar) novel.
He is also the receiver of the "Do'stlik" Award of Uzbekistan. (Sessions 1-4)

Volunteering at the Mahalla English Youth Centre |
The students taught free English language classes to children between 7 to 15 years old from low-income families of Tong Yulduzi Mahalla which included listening, reading, speaking, writing, art, drama etc.
The students were divided into two groups based on their level on English language:
Classes on Mondays and Wednesdays were for beginners;
Classes on Tuesdays and Thursdays were for intermediate.
Fridays were fun days where all students were invited to participate in reading, dancing, art, crafting etc.
The duration of each class was 1.5 hours starting at 15:00. The time was set to enable the children to attend the English language classes after their school hours.
The whole teaching and learning process were supported by students’ and teachers’ materials donated by the MM publications to our Mahalla English Youth Centre.
This activity contributed to the development of the following graduate attributes:

The Book Club is aimed at building culture of reading and enhancing dialogue between WIUT students and staff members through books. LRC's mission is to re-discover reading as a principal activity for obtaining knowledge through collaboration.
The facilitators shared their knowledge, opinions and experiences which were very beneficial to the participants.
The Book Club sessions were as follows:
Session 1 (4th October 2022): “Emma” by Jane Austen facilitated by Mukhlisa Atakhodjayeva. The session was emotional and full of light, which also raised great interest of participants.
Session 2 (18th October 2022): “The Five Pillars of Leadership” by Paul J. Meyer and Randy Slechta facilitated by Dr. Michael Clarke based on request.
Session 3 (25th October 2022): "Outliers” by Malcolm Gladwell facilitated by Nastarin Makhmudova.
Session 4 (8th November 2022): "Blood, Sweat and, Pixels” by Jason Shreier facilitated by Ayubkhon Nigmonkhujaev. A very specific book written dedicated to the game industry.
Session 5 (15th November 2022): “Mindset” by Carol Dweck facilitated by Ezoza Kamalova.
Session 6 (22nd November 2022): A bestseller book “And Then There Were None” by Agatha Christie facilitated by Anisa Temirova.
Session 7 (20th December 2022): A special session dedicated to the Harry Potter universe (J.K. Rowling) facilitated by Amirkhon Rakhmatkariev based on request.
Session 8 (31st January 2023): A bestseller book “It Ends with Us” by Colleen Hoover facilitated by Gulnoza Abdullaeva.
Session 9 (14th February 2023): “Who Will Cry When You Die?” by Robin Sharma facilitated by Rano Rozikova.
Session 10 (28th February 2023): A modern book “Bridgerton” by Julia Quinn facilitated by Malika Abdullaeva.
Session 11 (6th March 2023): A famous book “Atomic Habits” by James Clear facilitated by Bekhruz Akhmedov.
Session 12 (13th March 2023): The first interdisciplinary session that covered Japanese culture in collaboration with the Anime Club facilitated by Timur Martinez-Mukimov.

the role of Leader of the Drama Club |
The awardee took on the leader’s responsibilities of one of the social clubs at WIUT, the Drama Club, during the 2022–2023 academic year. The results of the club’s production are the two performances: “Importance of Being Earnest” by Oscar Wilde on the stage of Theatre of Young Spectators (ТЮЗ) which were held on the 27th and 29th of April 2023, and “The Tale of Fedot the Strelets” by Leonid Filatov, which was held on 10th February 2023 at the University. The student demonstrated a willingness to lead the club to the successful achievement of the annual performance on stage. It required conducting rehearsals three times a week for the duration of seven months. Rehearsals were for 2 hours each.
The responsibilities of the leader included:
- presenting club on Club’s Day;
- organizing and scheduling all club sessions and rehearsals;
- assisting the club’s professional teacher (which included arrangement of the theatre and costumes, as well as the decorations on the scenes);
- promoting and hosting the club events;
- monitoring the discipline and attendance of the members;
- booking of rooms for rehearsals and managing club members.
The student was actively cooperating with the University administration and contributed to the WIUT social events.
